Below you will find our shipping policy, including how our pre-order process works, estimated timelines, shipping updates, and how we handle your order to help ensure your books arrive safely and in excellent condition.

Shipping Destinations

We currently ship within the United States, including U.S. territories and eligible U.S. minor outlying islands where domestic delivery is available.

Our pre-order model allows us to consolidate shipments from Sri Lanka and bring a wider selection of Sinhala books to our customers at a reasonable cost.

Orders of $100 or more before any discount code ship free. A discount code lowers the price; it never takes free shipping away.

How Our Pre-Order Process Works

Books available through SinhalaBooksUSA are currently offered through designated pre-order windows.

During an open pre-order window, you can browse the available titles and place your order through our website.

Once the pre-order window closes, we consolidate customer orders and arrange for the books to be shipped to us from Sri Lanka.

After the books arrive in the United States, we check the shipment, prepare each customer order, and ship the books to the address provided at checkout.

Estimated Pre-Order Timeline

Please allow approximately 4–6 weeks from the close of the pre-order window for pre-ordered books to arrive from Sri Lanka and be prepared for shipment to you.

Please note that this is an estimated timeline rather than a guaranteed delivery date. International freight, customs processing, publisher or supplier availability, holidays, weather, and other circumstances outside our control may occasionally cause delays.

If the books arrive earlier than expected, we will begin fulfilling orders as soon as possible.

Please note that domestic delivery time begins after your order has been shipped from us and is separate from the pre-order waiting period.

Order Updates

We will keep you updated throughout the pre-order process.

Updates may include when your books are on the way from Sri Lanka, when the shipment arrives in the United States, and when your individual order has been prepared and shipped.

Once your order ships, we will send you tracking information so you can follow your package until delivery.

If there is a significant delay or unexpected change to the estimated timeline, we will also keep you informed.

Adding Books to an Existing Pre-Order

Want to add another book to your pre-order? If the pre-order window is still open, please contact us with your order number.

If possible, we can add the additional book(s) to your existing order and send you a payment link for the difference. This helps us keep your books together in one shipment.

Please contact us before the pre-order window closes, as we may not be able to make changes once the ordering process has begun.

Pre-Order Cancellations

Changed your mind? You may request to cancel your order for a full refund at any time before the pre-order window closes.

Once the pre-order window closes, we begin processing and placing our consolidated book order with our suppliers in Sri Lanka. For this reason, pre-orders cannot be cancelled after the pre-order window has closed.

If we are unable to fulfill a title you ordered, we will contact you and issue a refund for the unavailable item.

Book Requests

If there is a title you would like that is not currently listed in our catalogue, please let us know. If the book is currently in print and available from our suppliers, we will do our best to add it to the current pre-order catalogue so you can include it with your order.

Shipping Costs

We work to keep shipping costs as reasonable as possible for our customers. Shipping costs may vary depending on the size and weight of your order and the shipping method used.

Packaging

We take great care when packaging each order to help ensure your books arrive safely and in excellent condition. Books are packed with appropriate protective materials to minimize the risk of damage during transit.

Orders Containing Multiple Books

Books purchased together in the same order will generally be shipped together once all items are available. If one title experiences a significant delay, we will contact you with an update.

Shipping Address

Please review your shipping address carefully before completing your order.

If you notice an error after placing your order, please contact us as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to update the address before shipment, but we cannot guarantee that changes can be made once an order has been processed or shipped.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

Returned or Undeliverable Packages

If a package is returned to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address, failed delivery, or another issue outside our control, we will contact you regarding the available options.

Additional shipping charges may apply if the package needs to be shipped again.

Lost or Damaged Packages

If your order arrives damaged, or if you believe your package has been lost in transit, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and any relevant photographs or information.

We will review the situation and, where appropriate, work with the shipping carrier to determine the available resolution.
