Refund policy
At SinhalaBooksUSA, our books are currently offered through designated pre-order windows. Because we order books from Sri Lanka based on customer pre-orders, please review our cancellation and refund policy carefully before placing your order.
Pre-Order Cancellations
Changed your mind after placing your order? You may request to cancel your pre-order for a full refund at any time before the pre-order window closes.
Once the pre-order window closes, we begin processing and placing our consolidated book order with our suppliers in Sri Lanka. For this reason, orders cannot be cancelled after the pre-order window has closed.
Change-of-Mind Returns
Because books are ordered specifically based on customer pre-orders, we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind after the pre-order window has closed or after the books have been delivered.
Please review your selected titles carefully before the pre-order window closes.
Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Books
We carefully inspect and package each order before shipment. However, if a book arrives damaged, defective, or you receive a different book from the one you ordered, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.
Please include:
- Your order number
- A brief description of the issue
- Clear photographs showing the damage, defect, or incorrect item
We will review the issue and work with you to provide an appropriate resolution, which may include a replacement or refund depending on the circumstances and availability of the title.
Please do not return a book without contacting us first.
Unavailable Titles
Occasionally, a book that was available when the pre-order window opened may become unavailable from the publisher or supplier before we are able to obtain it.
If we are unable to fulfill a title in your order, we will let you know and issue a full refund for the unavailable item to your original payment method.
The remainder of your order will continue to be processed as usual.
Significant Pre-Order Delays
Our expected pre-order timeline is provided in our Shipping Policy. If an unexpected delay prevents us from shipping your order within the stated timeframe, we will contact you with an update and any options available to you, including cancellation and a refund where applicable.
Refunds
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase.
Once a refund has been processed by us, the time it takes to appear in your account may vary depending on your bank, credit card company, or payment provider.

If you need to cancel an eligible pre-order or have a problem with an order you received, please contact us through the contact information provided on our website and include your order number.
